Brawley GTS

Most electric side-by-sides chase the work UTV with batteries. Vanderhall, the Utah builder known for its retro three-wheel autocycles, went the other direction entirely: the Brawley GTS is a 404 hp, quad-motor, climate-controlled luxury off-roader that has more in common with an electric supertruck than with anything else on this page.

The spec sheet reads like provocation. Four motors, one per wheel, deliver 488 lb-ft with genuine torque vectoring, enabling drive modes nothing else in the segment offers: eCrawl for technical rock work, eSteer to turn the rear wheels, and eCrab to walk the whole vehicle diagonally. The 40 kWh pack is rated to 140 miles, roughly double a Ranger XP Kinetic Ultimate’s best case, and a 60 kWh option on the GTS pushes past 200. Then there is the cab: fully enclosed with heating, air conditioning, defrost, heated seats for all four occupants, a moonroof, and a multi-channel Bluetooth sound system. Owners coming from open-cab UTVs describe it as a different sport.

The hardware underneath is serious, aluminum unibody, 21 inches of suspension travel with reservoir shocks, 18 inches of ground clearance on 35-inch mud tires, regenerative braking through inboard discs. But the mission is recreation, not work: towing is a modest 1,500 lbs, cargo space totals about 5 square feet, and the 2,700 to 3,000 lb dry weight plus 76-inch width disqualify it from 50-inch and 60-inch trail systems outright.

The risk column deserves equal honesty. ATV.com pegged the GTS at $49,950 at delivery launch, with lower trims below that, figures dealers quote rather than publish, so expect negotiation and freight. Vanderhall’s factory warranty is just 6 months (36 on the battery), short for fifty grand. And the company is a boutique: the Brawley was announced years before deliveries actually began, the dealer network is thin outside the Mountain West, and long-term parts support is a bet on a small manufacturer. Coverage from Equipment World and ATV.com confirms deliveries are real and expanding, but early adopters are still early.

As the sport-performance flagship of this catalog alongside the Volcon Stag, the Brawley GTS is the choice when the question is not “what hauls feed” but “what is the most outrageous electric thing I can drive off-road.” On that question, nothing else answers louder.
